WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The ACOFP Intensive Update & Board Review is designed for practicing DO and MD family physicians who want to update their skills and knowledge, as well as those osteopathic family physicians preparing to take the recertification examination given by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
This program provides a patient-care focused review by experienced osteopathic family medicine clinician-educators. The curriculum has been updated to reflect the latest developments in the field. It will cover major family medicine concepts, help participants improve existing skills, as well as introduce new and innovative osteopathic modalities. In addition, the program schedule has been designed to minimize the time away from your busy practice.
Daily breakout sessions utilizing a hands-on approach will provide a solid review and practice of osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT). Additionally, targeted reviews of important topics in family medicine are designed to augment knowledge in preparation for the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians certification or recertification examination.
The ACOFP is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to sponsor continuing medical education for osteopathic physicians. ACOFP anticipates this program will be approved for 32 AOA Category 1-A CME credits. In addition, application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for those physicians seeking CME credit through this mechanism. Determination of AAFP credit is pending.
