SUPPORT THE AUXILIARY

No one gets by on his or her own - especially during osteopathic medical school and residency - which is why the Auxiliary to the ACOFP was formed. Spouses and significant others of osteopathic physicians have joined together with a mission to support those just starting out in family medicine.  To date, about 3,200 men and women are actively participating in the Auxiliary by raising money through dues, drawings, convention sponsorships, and direct donations.

The mission of the Auxiliary to the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians is to promote, support public health and educational activities in national and community health endeavors.

JOIN TODAY

SPONSORSHIP CAMPAIGN
The Auxiliary to the ACOFP is grateful for the support of our families, friends, and colleagues. Last year, the Auxiliary raised about $25,000 for osteopathic resident and new physician leadership training, osteopathic student educational programs at the ACOFP Annual Convention and osteopathic student scholarships and awards. This year, we are hoping to raise $50,000 for these programs. In order to reach our goal, we need your help.  Please support our annual sponsorship campaign by selecting the appropriate level on the sponsorship form. Any sponsorship level you select will be greatly appreciated.

The deadline to be recognized on the ACOFP website and at the 2017 Annual Convention and Scientific Seminars was February 3, 2017.
However, the Auxiliary will continue to accept 2017 sponsorship forms throughout Convention.

STUDENT AWARD

OUTSTANDING OSTEOPATHIC STUDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Outstanding Osteopathic Student of the Year Award was created in Memory of Marie Wiseman to provide an opportunity to recognize an osteopathic medical student who demonstrates excellence, leadership, and community service in family medicine. This annual award provides one osteopathic medical student with $5,000 to help defray medical school and/or personal expenses, and affirms the recipient’s activities and outstanding leadership within the association. The award winner will be announced at the ACOFP Annual Convention in Kissimmee, Florida in March 2017 and the recipient will also receive up to two nights room and tax hotel stay in a standard room and one roundtrip, coach airfare.

We are no longer accepting award applications. Deadline to apply was November 1, 2016.

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Auxiliary support provides assistance for qualified osteopathic medical students who are active members of the school’s ACOFP student chapter and intend to enter an AOA approved family medicine residency program.

EMERGING OSTEOPATHIC STUDENT LEADER SCHOLARSHIPS

The Auxiliary to the ACOFP annually awards two $2,500 scholarships to qualified emerging osteopathic student leaders in family medicine and the ACOFP. The scholarships are intended to assist the students in defraying their medical school and/or personal expenses and to affirm the recipients’ interest in association leadership.

OSTEOPATHIC FAMILY MEDICINE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
The Auxiliary of the ACOFP annually awards twenty $1,000 scholarships to qualified medical students who have indicated an interest in family medicine and the ACOFP. The scholarships are intended to assist the students in defraying their medical school and/or personal expenses.

We are no longer accepting scholarship applications. Deadline to apply was November 1, 2016.

FUTURE LEADERS CONFERENCE SUPPORT
The Auxiliary annually provides support to the ACOFP Future Leaders Conference, which is designed to teach selected new physicians in practice and family medicine residents who are interested in achieving a greater awareness of their leadership style so they can make a greater impact in the profession and in ACOFP.
