BASIC TRAINING STANDARDS
ACOFP offers an array of tools and training resources designed to help osteopathic medicine residency program directors to better manage their residents and residency programs.

Basic Standards for residency and fellowship training in osteopathic family medicine are developed by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and administered by the ACOFP.

EVALUATIONS

ADVANCED STANDING REQUEST

Residents entering osteopathic family practice residency programs who have taken previous residency training in accredited osteopathic or allopathic residency programs may request advanced placement. The Program Director of the accepting program may submit an Advanced Standing Credit Request to the ACOFP CEE Committee requesting Advanced Standing Credit for the Resident.

Residency Training Programs in Osteopathic Family Practice & Manipulative Treatment

The CBE must be kept at the residency site. If the residency program closes, all CBEs must be forwarded to the ACOFP.

CORE COMPETENCY EVALUATION FORM  PDF  |  Word
The Core Competency Evaluation form is to be kept at the residency program for each resident, and must be available to the on-site inspector.  Do not send the document to the ACOFP, AOA , or the OPTI.



REPORTS
All Residency Programs are required to submit Final Residents Reports for Residents that will complete their program in 2016. In order for the Residents to receive Osteopathic Training Complete Status, every Program Director must submit the Final Residents Report within 30 days of the Resident's program completion.

IN-SERVICE EXAMINATION


The 2017 In-Service Examination is scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2017. 

The In-Service Examination is a requirement in the ACOFP Basic Standards (VII.B.7.1d). Please be sure to plan your schedule accordingly.
